assign ads

How do I assign and reassign ads to books and services (i.e. Amazon, Kobo, etc.)?

Assigning your ads to the correct book and service (i.e. Amazon, Kobo, Apple, etc.) is an essential step in accurate reporting. While you can always go back and correct any mistakes, this can be very time consuming if you have a lot of ads. AHS offers messaging to guide you through the process so please pay attention to all prompts.

Once you've uploaded your ads reports, you'll see them listed in the Unassigned tab on the Ads assignment page in the Active Ads tab. "Active" ads are determined by the reports you upload. If the ad is not active on the ads platform then it will automatically show up on the Paused/Not Running Ads tab. There is no way to manually change an ad from paused to active.

Assign Unassigned Ads:

1. Select the ad(s) you want to assign by clicking the checkbox. NOTE: If you have many ads you can search for keywords in your ad titles. Enter the keyword in the search window to filter.
2. A pop-up window will appear asking which service the ads are for (i.e. Amazon, Kobo, Apple, etc.) In other words where are you sending your potential readers with these ads?
3. Select the book you want to assign to the ads. Click the "Assign Ads" button.

Re-assign or edit one Assigned Ad:

1. If you need to edit an assigned ad, click on the Assigned tab and then the Active Ads tab.
2.  A pop-up window will appear asking which service the ad is for (i.e. Amazon, Kobo, Apple, etc.) In other words where are you sending your potential readers with this ad?
3. If the ad is not assigned to a book yet, select the book in the drop-down and click the "Assign Ads" button.

Re-assign or edit multiple Assigned Ads:

NOTE: Please be careful when re-assigning or editing multiple ads. If you assign the wrong ads to the wrong book or service you'll need to manually correct the mistake. See "Correcting  ad assignments" below for more.

1. If you need to edit multiple assigned ads, click on the Assigned tab and then the Active Ads tab. NOTE: If you have many ads you can search for keywords in your ad titles. Enter the keyword in the search window to filter. You can also make this step go quickly by filtering by service and by book.
2.  A pop-up window will appear asking which service the ads are for (i.e. Amazon, Kobo, Apple, etc.) In other words where are you sending your potential readers with these ads?
3. If the ads are not assigned to a book yet, select the "Assign ads to a Book" button.
4. A new pop-up window will appear. Select the book from the drop-down menu.
5. Click the "Assign Ads' button.

Follow the steps directly above if you want to assign multiple ads to a service. Remember to be careful with this step as you don't want to have to manually change these later.

Correcting ads assignments:

If you incorrectly assign ads to a service or book, you can rectify this by following these steps:

1. Click on the Assigned Ads tab, then the Active Ads tab.
2. Be sure to use the filters to reduce the time you'll spend on correcting the mistake. You can filter by ad name (just use one word in the ad name to filter it out), the service, or the book.
3. Once you have the correct ads selected, click on either the "Assign ads to Service" or the "Assign ads to Book" button, depending on what kind of mistake you made during the previous assignment.
4. Select the service or the book and save the change.
